On October 31, 2024, the feast day of St. Luke the Apostle and Evangelist, on the initiative of His Excellency Archbishop Jerzy and Father Mitrat Miroslaw Nichiporuk, a class meeting of former students who attended the aforementioned theological school in 1989-1993 was held within the walls of the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw. The meeting began with the solemn celebration of St. John's Day. The liturgy was led by His Excellency Archbishop Jerzy, Ordinariate of the Diocese of Wrocław-Szczecin and Ordinariate of the Polish Army, assisted by His Eminence Fr. Mitrat Jerzy Tofiluk, rector of the seminary and former seminarians: Archimandrite Herman (Trofimik), Fr. Myrat Mirosław Lewczak, priest Myrat Mirosław Nichiporuk, Hegumen Paphnucius (Jakymiuk), Hegumen Methodius (Goczko), priest Protopriest Slawomir Kochan and Protodeacon Tomasz Cyrkun.
At the end of St. During the liturgy, Archbishop Jerzy thanked Fr. Rector for the many years of effort invested in teaching and instilling theological knowledge among his students. In gratitude for his hard work, the hierarch gave Fr. Tofiluk a priestly cross with jewelry. Further in his speech, His Excellency mentioned the situation of the early 1990s. Students at that time, in addition to seminary subjects, continued their studies in a general high school that prepared them for their final exams in secondary schools. Much attention was paid to the merits of the teachers, many of whom have passed away for eternal life, and their contribution to education cannot be ignored. Through the efforts of the seminary teachers, moral and ethical foundations were laid which now help to carry out pastoral ministry in the parishes.
Beautiful music was provided by the seminary choir. Words of gratitude were addressed to longtime SDP teacher in Warsaw, Prof. Wlodzimierz Wolosiuk, who teaches church singing on a daily basis.
The friendly meeting was also an opportunity to take a photo in front of the iconostasis of the church and on the stairs in front of the seminary.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a communal dinner was held to contribute to the wonderful memories of youth and the period of life within the walls of the Alma Mater.
Thanking God for the gift of priesthood, the graduates of 1989-1993 remain in prayerful hope for the next meeting within the walls of the University.
