Catholic-Orthodox bilateral team meeting

On Tuesday, November 12 of this year, a plenary session of the Catholic-Orthodox bilateral team was held at the headquarters of the Polish Episcopal Conference. The meeting was conducted by Archbishop Abel and Bishop Adam Bub.

Statement of the Plenary Session of the Catholic-Orthodox Bilateral Group


On November 12, 2024, the Catholic-Orthodox Bilateral Group of the Polish Episcopal Conference and the Council of Bishops of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Poland met at the headquarters of the Polish Episcopal Conference in Warsaw.



The Orthodox Church was represented by Archbishop Abel, co-chair of the team, Fr. Jaroslav Pagur and Fr. Jerzy Tofiluk. The Catholic Church was represented by: bishop Adam Bab, co-chair of the team, and Fr. Radoslaw Kimsza.

During the meeting, current ecumenical topics were discussed, including the upcoming Ecumenical Week, as well as school catechesis and church foundation issues. The team expressed concern about the trend of limiting religion classes in school.


The next meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2025 at the headquarters of the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw. It will be organized by the Orthodox side of the team.
