On November 27, 2024, the Primorsky Metropolis Museum was opened in the lower gallery of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in Vladivostok. On this day the first show of the exhibition «To Your House befits a shrine…» dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Vladivostok diocese and the construction of the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior took place.
The event was attended by Bishop Pavel of Vladivostok and Primorye, Vicar of Vladivostok Diocese Bishop Innokenty of Ussuri, Vladivostok City Administration Head K.V. Shestakov, clergy of the diocese, parishioners.
The ceremony began with the singing of the troparion and kondak of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord by the choir of the cathedral under the direction of the regent Olga Grigorieva.
The event was opened by S.S. Rusnak, curator of the exhibition, historian, art historian, director of the Museum of the Primorskaya Metropolis. She noted that a little more than a year has passed since the idea of creating the museum was conceived. The exhibition «Thy House Befits a Sanctuary...» presents more than 200 unique exhibits from the museum's collection, including collections of church sewing, old printed books, icons, photographs and other items. documents. Some exhibits were provided by private collectors and galleries, as well as transferred for display from the sacristies of churches of the Primorsky Metropolis.
The exhibits of the exhibition — the laying board of the Church of the Assumption, which became the first cathedral of Vladivostok after the establishment of the Vladivostok diocese, as well as the ceremonial portrait of Archbishop Evsevius and the laying board of the first military church on Russky Island. Also presented are a shroud of the mid-19th century from the sacristy of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Spassk-Dalny and the Shroud of the Divine God. Spassk-Dalny and service books, vessels and icons from the sacristy of St. Nicholas Church, which became the second cathedral in Vladivostok after the revival of the diocese in 1991.
