His Holiness Patriarch Porfirios of Serbia served on 20. November 2024. in the Church of St. Sava on Vračar the commemoration of his predestinarian Blessed memory to Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, whom on this day four years ago the Lord called into his arms.
On this occasion His Holiness Mr. Porphyrios pointed out: - Patriarch Irineus undoubtedly left and transmitted to us what he received from the holy fathers, and this is, above all, faith in the risen Christ. And this we are obliged to pass on to future generations, for he who fulfills my word shall not see death vavic (John 8: 51). Regardless of our downfalls, by imitating faith in Christ, we will always know where we stand on the path that Blessed Patriarch Irinej taught us. He was a member of the authentic Serbs, an Orthodox monk of the old kov, and these are the best examples of our people. He was both a monk and a pastor, a Christian and a Serb.
-We pray for his salvation, and I believe we also have his prayer and intercession before the throne of the Lord for the much needed harmony, peace and unity. Eternal memory and Kingdom of Heaven to Blessed Patriarch Irinej of Serbia," said His Holiness Mr. Porfiry.
