On November 29, 2024, a general meeting of the staff of the Synodal Missionary Department and Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis was held online.
At the beginning of the event, the chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechesis Metropolitan Evgeny of Ekaterinburg and Verkhotursk addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. The bishop noted that it is important to define the boundaries of the distribution of responsibilities and powers in the sphere of religious education, as well as to find common points of intersection where the two synodal departments could work in cooperation with each other.
The Vice Chairman of the Synodal Missionary Department, Priest Anthony Kosykh, supported Metropolitan Eugene and noted that the missionary department is in collaboration with many other departments of the Russian Orthodox Church and is always ready for close cooperation for the benefit of the mission to educate and raise the level of religious education.
The participants then shared their thoughts on joint cooperation, and various options and projects were proposed in which the work of the two synodal departments could be utilized.
