On November 28, 2024, the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk met with Thailand's Supreme Buddhist Patriarch Somdet Phra Ariyavangsagatayana IX in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

The Chairman of the Department of External Church Relations spoke about the celebrations in Bangkok on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the presence of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand, about the state of interreligious relations and dialog in Russia, as well as about the activities of the Department for External Church Relations.
In turn, the Thai Buddhist Patriarch warmly welcomed the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church and noted that Russia and Thailand have a long history of good relations.
At the end of the meeting, the participants exchanged memorable gifts.
