On November 28, 2024, the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk met with bishops serving in the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Bangkok, Thailand.
The meeting was attended by Metropolitan Anthony of Singapore, the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia Metropolitan of Singapore.
Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Paul of Manila and Hanoi, Archbishop Theophan of Korea, and Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta participated in the conversation.
The meeting discussed issues concerning the Moscow Patriarchate's activities in the Asian region and prospects for further development of various areas of church life.
Afterwards, at the invitation of Metropolitan Sergius, the chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church attended the regular meeting of the Synod of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia as a guest of honor.
