The Sretensky Theological Academy has been running the educational project "School of the Entrant" for several years. The goal of the project is to prepare for the entrance examinations for admission to a theological school. The program includes such disciplines as Catechism, Biblical History, History of the Ancient Church and Liturgics.
The School of the Applicant prepares students to embrace theological knowledge and enter meaningfully into the living tradition of the Orthodox Church. In addition, the project offers students an insight into the life of the Sretensky Theological School. Academy and the Sretensky Monastery. The project includes:
1. Classes on four specified training courses (lecture and seminar type).
2. Liturgical practice (study of prayers, the sequence of the daily and Sunday services, familiarization with the liturgical books and the main items of the altar, acquiring the skills of acolyte service, reading the Apostle and Psalter in Church Slavonic).
3. Extracurricular activities (individual conversations with priests of the Sretensky Monastery, group trips and excursions).
In addition, attendees of the School of Entry will have additional opportunities to:
1. To participate in the sings of the youth choir;
2. To try themselves on the obedience of an altar boy in the church. Sretensky Monastery;
3. to pray at the night Liturgy together with the students of the Academy and the brethren of the monastery;
4. to participate in the trip to St. Seraphim's Skete of Sretensky Monastery and to the holy places.
The project of the Sretensk Theological Academy "School of the entrant" assumes two forms of training: full-time and distance learning. The next enrollment in the School will be announced in January 2025. The duration of training is one semester. The training is free of charge.
All participants of the educational project are provided with all necessary teaching materials and literature for use. Video recordings of the lessons will be placed in the cloud storage, which will give all trainees the opportunity to access the training material at any convenient time.
Upon completion of the School of Entry for graduates will be The final attestation will be held, after which everyone who has successfully passed the tests will be presented with a personalized certificate of successful completion of training at the graduation ceremony.
All students who have successfully completed the School of Entrance are invited to take part in the entrance examinations and continue their theological education within the walls of the Academy, studying theological, church-practical, historical, philological and other disciplines in order to prepare themselves for the salvific service of the Church of Christ.Entrance exams to the School of the Applicant will be held on January 22, 2024. Applications will be accepted until January 20, 18:00.
