On the evening of December 7, 2024, a ceremony was held in Paris to inaugurate the rebuilt Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris. The cathedral suffered a devastating fire in 2019, and the reconstruction took more than five years.

More than 40 heads of state and government, including French President Emmanuel Macron, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, Prince William of the United Kingdom, and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, also attended the ceremony.
French cardinals and bishops of the Roman Catholic Church and bishops of the Local Orthodox Churches represented in France were also in attendance.
At the invitation of the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and the Archbishop of Paris Laurent Julrish, the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe, attended the opening ceremony of the restored cathedral.
