With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Sergius elevated to the rank of archimandrite a cleric of the Samara Eparchy, acting hegumen of the Zavolzhsky Monastery Hieromonk Anthony (Podorovsky), elected by the Holy Synod at its session on December 27, 2024 (journal No. 144) to be Bishop of Syzran and Shigonsky.
